Q: How do I know if my water chemistry is off?
A: Cloudy or discolored water, strong odors, skin irritation, or foamy water are all signs your water chemistry needs attention. Contact us and we'll get it sorted out.
Q: What should I do before my service appointment?
A: Please ensure the hot tub is accessible from the equipment area (control panel side) and that the power is on. Also, please keep any pets inside.
Q: My hot tub is leaking a lot of water, what should I do?
A: If your hot tub is losing water quickly, the first thing you should do is power off the unit. Running the pumps when the water level has dropped below the jets can cause serious damage to your components, the pumps may turn on and off automatically depending on your Hot Tub Settings. Also, make sure the water stays above freezing temperatures to prevent any freeze damage, a winterization may need to be completed ASAP. Contact us right away and we'll get out to diagnose the leak as soon as possible.
Q: My hot tub jets are weak, what could be the cause?
A: Weak jets are usually caused by a dirty or clogged filter, Diverter Knob, low water level, or an air lock in the pump. Air locks usually occur after a Drain & Refill. Try cleaning your filter first and make sure your water level is above the minimum line. If jets are still weak contact us for a diagnostic visit.
Q: My hot tub is tripping the breaker, what should I do?
A: A tripping breaker is usually caused by a faulty GFCI, a failing pump motor, or a heater issue. Do not keep resetting the breaker repeatedly as this can cause further damage. Power off the unit and contact us for a diagnostic visit.
Q: My hot tub is not heating, what should I check?
A: First check that your thermostat is set correctly and that the filter is clean — a clogged filter restricts water flow and can cause the heater to shut off as a safety measure. Also check your control panel for any error codes. Most models have a separate electrical breaker for the heating unit, check to see if it is tripped. Also, some Hot Tubs have "Special Modes" that will change how the Hot Tub Heats Up, such as Eco Mode or Summer Mode. If the issue persists contact us and we'll diagnose it.
Q: My control panel is showing an error code, what does that mean?
A: Error codes vary by brand and model. Common codes indicate issues with water flow, temperature, or pressure. An Example would be Open Flow Switch, indicating no water flow, this could be caused by a bad flow switch or bad circulation pump. Contact us with your hot tub brand, model, and the error code showing and we'll help you diagnose the issue, most error codes require visual inspection.
Q: Do I have to winterize my hot tub?
A: If you plan to continue using your hot tub through the winter and you have not expierenced any issues you do not need to winterize it — simply maintain your water chemistry and keep the cover on when not in use to retain heat. However if you plan to shut it down for the season or have had recent issues such as breaker tripping winterizing is strongly recommended, especially here in New England. Water left in the plumbing lines can freeze and expand causing serious and costly damage to your pipes, pumps, and equipment. A proper winterization ensures your hot tub is fully protected until you are ready to use it again or complete repairs in the spring.
